Prior to and whilst working at The Russell Partnership Gary has gained over 30 years’ experience as designer, creator and developer of brands both locally and internationally. His experience dovetails the creative process with an instinct as to the mechanics of how brands work, are developed and become successful.
Gary was invited to join the board of Harrods in London aged 33. At Harrods he was responsible for the creation and implementation of over 100,000 sq. ft. of prime retail and food spaces in store and worldwide.
Gary was responsible for the redevelopment of Harrods famous food halls which included the introduction of Sushi, Fromagerie, a chocolatier and fresh market into established space as well as the addition of a new Pizzeria, Sports Bar and Tapas and wine shop onto other floors of the store. Additionally, the role saw him controlling numerous international luxury brands including Gucci, Dior, Tom Ford, Prada amongst others giving Gary unprecedented insight into the workings of retail branding and development at a global level.
Currently Gary is working with a number of the world’s leading hotel brands including Hilton, Marriott and Mandarin Oriental. Current projects include the creation of a new city hotel brand for a private developer in London with 6 prominent sites valued at over £1bn.
Gary’s diverse experience has been utilised by Aramark, Compass Group and Sodexo to develop leading brands in key locations… Blenheim Palace and The British Library are two of the latest projects for these clients.
Gary was instrumental in the creation of “Aspire Hospitality” which was responsible for design and delivery of the food and beverage offer at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, catering for over 250,000 guests per year at the event. This included the creation of food villages, as well as tailored hospitality areas.
Additionally, he has, over the years worked with Celebrity Chefs Gary Rhodes, Anton Edelmann and Laurence Keogh to deliver signature restaurants in London and has recently completed restaurants for Michel Roux Jnr and the Indian chef Cyrus Todiwala delivering outstanding fine dining experiences in stand-alone restaurant locations.
