Alexandra Rose Charity

Supported by Russell Partnership Foundation

Alexandra Rose Charity believes everyone should have access to healthy and affordable food. Our mission is to give families access to fresh fruit & veg in their local communities.

To make this a reality, we run the Rose Vouchers for Fruit and Veg Project, which works in eight areas across the UK, including London. Liverpool, Barnsley and Glasgow. In partnership with local children’s centres and other community partners, we give families the spending power to buy the fresh fruit and veg of their choice to help give their young children a healthier start in life.

Families on low incomes with young children receive weekly Rose Vouchers so they can buy fruit and veg at local markets and with local independent retailers. Each Rose Voucher is worth £1.

Jonathan Pauling, CEO of Alexandra Rose Charity, says, “All parents want to be able to give their children the healthiest possible start, including providing healthy, nutritious meals with lots of fruit and veg. That can be a challenge when it’s much cheaper and easier to eat unhealthy food.

Since 2014 we’re thrilled that we’ve been able to help almost 8000 families get access to over £1,600,000 worth of fresh fruit and veg while also supporting local markets and independent retailers.”
