HSMAI Certification in Hotel Business Acumen

The Certification in Hotel Business Acumen (CHBA) is part of the Russell Partnership Technology’s offering. There are multiple versions of the CHBA with the most prominent being the HSMAI edition. This is an online training and professional certification course in business acumen that is relevant, respected, and recognised. The CHBA course content has met these criteria for over 4,000 professionals in live events in 40 countries.

This four-week online course, leading to a CHBA certification, requires applicants to commit to a minimum of four hours per week and to take the examination in the fifth week. It encompasses eLearning, Simulation, and Web Conferencing, and is done entirely online. The program places participants in the seat of a general manager to deliver decisions on pricing, marketing, staffing and renovations in a live simulated competitive set environment over a 12-month business cycle.

This certification is appropriate for, but not limited to, a Managing Director, Asset Manager, General Manager, Vice President or Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, Operations Department Head, Sales Manager, Convention Services Manager, Account Executive, Director of Revenue Management or Revenue Manager.

The online training is divided into four modules:
