The R&A commissioned Russell Partnership Consulting to support with the 18-month tendering process for the delivery of food, beverage and hospitality at The Open – regarded as the most prestigious international golf championship in the world. The support commenced with an in-depth analysis of the capabilities of potential partners to match the requirements of delivering a complicated and challenging annual, week-long, large scale event, at different green-field sites.
This was followed by operational site visits to shortlisted potential partners; the development of detailed tender documentation and analysis of submissions; chairing of final tender workshops to test response validity; leading of commercial dialogue; and final recommendation for the appointment of a new provider.
